Steady & Sharp Fair

Free! – Oct. 30, 2019, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm – SFL Main Location

Mark your calendars for October 30th and join us for the Steady & Sharp Fair! What better way to exercise our brains than by learning something new, and why not make it fun? We have many activities planned for our Steady for Life students including a Spelling Bee narrated by our very own Amy Farnsworth and mind-challenging games and activities including a drumming class by Paula Williams and a brain teaser session by Debra Wade. We are honored to have guest Michael Deuel, Case Manager for The Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind, who will offer us a simple sign language class and teach us how to sign the song, “You Are My Sunshine”. The event is FREE, but we need to know that you are coming! Please RSVP to us by clicking the "Register online" button and filling out the form as soon as possible.

Cook Museum of Natural Science

$20 – Nov. 7, 2019, 10:00 am – Birmingham, AL

We’ve been waiting a while for the new and amazing 2-story Cook's Museum to re-open in Decatur. On November 7th at 10:00 am, we will board the Mayfair bus at the Mayfair Church, 1095 Carl T. Jones, and go see the exhibits at the museum. We will have many lunch options on your own, in and around the museum. We will be back in Huntsville by 3:00 pm.

You must register on the attached registration form and make your $20 check out to Steady for Life (be sure and indicate on the check what the payment is for). Registration Deadline is November 1st.

Travel Fair for 2020 Trips

Free! – Nov. 20, 2019, 2:00 pm – SFL Main Location

Every year we pack the meeting room at Steady for Life – 7900 Bailey Cove Rd. with the anticipation of our TRIP REVEAL. This year will be no exception on November 20th at 2:00. Come see what all we have planned for you in 2020!

There will be opportunity to pick your motor coach seat when deposits are made. New this year, there will be information on each trip flyer with how much walking/activity is involved and pricing will be based on whether depositors are Steady for Life members or travel friends only.

Reservation needed for planing purposes.

* There will be a “final details” meeting before the fair for those going on this year’s Christmas in New York trip (1:00 pm).

* There will be a meeting after the fair for travelers going to Austria, Switzerland & Germany next year (4:00 pm).

Christmas High Tea

$15 – Dec. 4, 2019, 2:30 pm – DoubleTree Hotel, Magnoia Room, Huntsville, AL

Steady for Life Ladies & Gents are invited to a Christmas High Tea at the DoubleTree Hotel at 6000 Memorial Parkway on December 4th, 2019. You may also invite a friend who isn't a SFL member.

Entertainment will be provided by international pianist Christopher-Joel Carter. Dress in your favorite Christmas outfit, and hats are encouraged!

2020: Bring It On!

$95 – Dec. 31, 2019 – Keystone Resort, Loretta, TN

Steady for Life will usher in the new decade in a special way! Join us on December 31st as we bus to the brand new Keestone Resort in Loretta, TN for a special dinner show at the resort.

The bus will depart from Mayfair Church of Christ on Carl T. Jones at 4:00 pm and from Asbury Church on Hughes Road at 4:45 pm. We will return home by 11:30 pm.

This New Year’s celebration will be offered first to our SFL class members. If spaces are still available at our travel fair on November 20th, we will open the trip to travel friends who do not attend our classes.

Dinner will be Surf & Turf with a show featuring THE RETURN, a tribute band to The Beatles, who perform all over the world. It will be the most authentic Beatles live show you will ever witness!

Cost for bus transportation, dinner, and show is $95. Only 45 seats available, so RSVP NOW!
