Julie Barnett

Main Location

Julie enjoys sharing her passion of health and fitness with others while trying to encourage them to move more today than yesterday, in order to have good quality of life. She’s a NETA Certified Personal Trainer, FitOps - Certified Veteran Fitness Operative, Revelation Wellness Group Fitness Instructor and Spin Instructor.

Julie is an Air Force Veteran, spouse to an Air Force Veteran retiree, and mother to two adult daughters.


Jill Chadwick

Main Location and Monrovia

While writing an article for Shattered, Inc.’s Community Journal, Jill discovered Steady for Life's programs and was inspired to become a licensed Zumba instructor and Senior Fitness Specialist.

She is teaching Advanced Balance and Move to the Music classes at our Monrovia location as well as teaching Zumba classes for the Wellness Centers.


Terrie Duke

Monte Sano

Fitness became a priority for Terrie many years ago while living in Germany and participating in weekend hikes known as Volksmarches. Becoming a fitness instructor for Steady for Life seemed a natural fit after being a Special Education teacher in both Germany and the U.S. She re-discovered her love for dance and chose to become a certified Zumba instructor. She teaches in the Move to Music and Balance Body 2 classes at our Main Steady for Life location.

She and her husband Jim have 4 children and 1 grandson and have now lived in Huntsville for 13 years.


Sara Dull

All Saints

Sara has been an educator working with both children and adult students for over forty years, in the United States and Europe. She has been a part of our classes as a student and a teacher for two years and holds the “Ageless Grace” certification—training in senior balance and exercise and is ABLE Bodies certified. A nurturer by nature, Sara has a special relationship with all members of her class members.


Amy Farnsworth

Main Location, All Saints, Monte Sano, and Valley

Amy has been an educator for over twenty years. She is certified in both Ageless Grace and Yoga Fit and also teaches at the YMCA. She genuinely enjoys working with seniors as they have fun and stay fit together. Amy teaches at two of our locations and enjoys travelling with our group.​


Beth Flatt

Main Location

Beth grew up in Mississippi where fitness and exercise was an important part of her life. Her game was tennis. She has recently completed the Senior Fitness Specialty training through National Association of Sports Medicine, as well as her CPR training. She is excited to be part of our Steady for Life mission of helping others stay fit and balanced….while having fun. She is married to Dr. James Flatt and they have 2 sons.


Helen Ford

Main Location and Mount Zion

Helen worked with the Madison County Sheriff Department for 30 years. After retirement, she was employed with Home Instead Senior Care for three years, as a Caregiver. During that time, her clients attended Steady for Life classes 3 times per week. Besides enjoying the classes herself, she volunteered as a class helper. Helen is passionate about exercise, fitness, balance and nutrition. We are glad she has studied to become a certified senior group fitness instructor and desires to help others reached their goals. She is teaching Balance 3 at our Main studio.


Chris Irrgang


We welcome Chris Irrgang to our SFL staff! She is the new Yoga/Balance instructor at our Monrovia class. Her passion for Yoga began nine years ago. In 2013, she received her Yoga certification and has taught in various gyms and studios in the area. To further her education, she completed a 500-hour Yoga certification program. Our 50+ Steady for Life Yoga/Balance class will enjoy the practice she has created for you!

Debra Wade

Hampton Cove

Debra's goal for her class is to improve breathing, balance, flexibility, strength and movement. She is a certified Pilates instructor, Yamuna Body Rolling practitioner, and a certified RedCord specialist. She also has a senior fitness specialist certification. Debra has been teaching Pilates for the past 20 years and was a Pilates Studio owner in Huntsville for 10 years. She teaches Pilates at southeast YMCA and Core Connection Pilates in Huntsville.


Shawna Wiggins

Main Location, Downtown/Holmes St., and Monte Sano

Shawna has been involved with fitness and outdoor activities her entire life. She was inspired to become an instructor while participating in Steady for Life's Gentle Yoga classes. She finds working with seniors especially rewarding. Shawna is a yoga teacher and a senior fitness specialist who holds certifications with the Athletics and Fitness Association of America and the National Academy of Sports Medicine.


Paula Williams

Assistant Director; Meridianville and Mount Zion

Paula’s love for fitness began when she was 8 years old working out with her mom in the family living room to Jane Fonda albums. As a child and teenager, she was constantly doing something...ballet, tap, jazz, gymnastics, racquet ball, softball, track, majorette, cheerleading. That love for fitness carried through to her young adult years when she got her first “real” fitness job as a step aerobics instructor. Since that job over 25 years ago, she has taught pump, hip hop, tae-bo, water aerobics, Zumba and PiYO, to name a few. Currently, she is a certified group exercise instructor, Zumba Instructor, Personal Trainer, PiYO Live Instructor, and a BeachBody Coach. We welcome her to the new Steady for Life Balance Class in Meridianville!


Kim Davis

Executive Director

Kim’s 20-year career has been in Healthcare Marketing with her focus and passion being the senior-aged adults. She enjoys assembling a dynamite team of balance instructors and seeing the class participants progress and become more confident in their everyday living. “As we all work toward preventing falls, life-long friendships have been made as an extra benefit to our program.”​
