Meet Our Instructors
Kimberly Brown
Main Location & Timbers Edge Location
Kimberly has a background in molecular biology and cancer research. Fourteen years ago, following the birth of her third child, she started taking Pilates classes and she was amazed with how quickly she regained her strength, flexibility and balance. She was encouraged by her Pilates teacher to train to become a Pilates instructor, and in 2018 she received her certification through Peak Pilates. She enjoys watching her students becoming stronger and more confident and she looks forward to continuing that work with Steady for Life.
Jill Chadwick
Nativity Episcopal Location
For 28 years, Jill taught literature & composition full-time at Calhoun Community College, where she would dance on her desk before tests to calm the students’ nerves.
Now as a retired English teacher, Jill has a Zumba license and has taught Move to the Music classes for Steady for Life for 7 years.
Kim Davis
Executive Director; Travel Director
Kim’s 25-year career has been in Healthcare Marketing with her focus and passion being the senior-aged adults. She enjoys assembling a dynamite team of balance instructors and seeing the class participants progress and become more confident in their everyday living. “As we all work toward preventing falls, life-long friendships have been made as an extra benefit to our program.”
Amy Farnsworth
Valley UM Church & Main Location
Amy has been an educator for over twenty years. She is certified in both Ageless Grace and Yoga Fit and also teaches at the YMCA. She genuinely enjoys working with seniors as they have fun and stay fit together. Amy teaches at two of our locations and enjoys traveling with our group.
Beth Flatt
Main Location
Beth grew up in Mississippi where fitness and exercise was an important part of her life. Her game was tennis. She has recently completed the Senior Fitness Specialty training through National Association of Sports Medicine, as well as her CPR training. She is excited to be part of our Steady for Life mission of helping others stay fit and balanced… while having fun. She is married to Dr. James Flatt and they have 2 sons.
Helen Ford
New Market Location
Helen worked with the Madison County Sheriff’s Department for 30 years. After retirement, she was employed with Home Instead Senior Care for three years, as a Caregiver. During that time, her clients attended Steady for Life classes 3 times per week. Besides enjoying the classes herself, she volunteered as a class helper. Helen is passionate about exercise, fitness, balance and nutrition. We are glad she has studied to become a certified senior group fitness instructor and desires to help others reached their goals.
Pam Herdy
Main Location & Nativity Episcopal Location
Pam has been involved with health care in various roles throughout her career. She knows first hand that exercise is some of the “best medicine”. Pam has been teaching classes for over 25 years and is a Health and Wellness speaker and Workshop leader. Pam continues to be inspired by her students who strive to improve their health and well being.
Bob & Susan Janus
Faith Presbyterian Location
Bob and Susan began ballroom dancing in their 40’s…neither one had any dance experience. They had to learn “from scratch”, and in that process realized their love and joy for dancing together. Because they are not “natural dancers”, they understand the patience and type of instruction that is needed in order to become successful on the dance floor.
Bob has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering; Susan has a B.A. in English and an M.A. in English/Education. Married for 45 years, they have been teaching ballroom dance in the Huntsville area for over a decade, both privately and in group settings. Their teaching style is high-energy and fun, with a focus on techniques and patterns designed to get students onto the dance floor as quickly as possible. Ongoing research has concluded that ballroom dance improves cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength, flexibility, posture, and cognitive ability. They invite everyone to enjoy these benefits (and more) by attending the Steady for Life Beginning Ballroom classes held at the gym of Faith Presbyterian Church each Wednesday afternoon.
Karleen Killen
Monte Sano Location
Karleen recently moved from southern California to Huntsville. She has been practicing Yoga for over 15 years and became a certified 200-hour Yoga instructor in 2016.
Karleen continues to study Yoga through participation in classes, workshops and retreats. She is excited to share the many benefits with others in a fun way. She also has a Balance Certification from the National Association of Sports Medicine.

Lebée Meehan

Lebée has had a varied career in education, working as a gallery director at a science museum, then as an astronaut instructor, and, currently, as a yoga and movement teacher. She is a 200-hour registered yoga teacher and a Nutritious Movement® trained Restorative Exercise Specialist. We are excited that she is using her knowledge and experience in leading our Steady for Life Body Balance III class. You can also often find her substitute teaching for Steady for Life Yoga classes.
Jennifer Tostado
Monrovia Church Location, Holmes UM Church, & Monte Sano UM Church
Jennifer is a certified yoga instructor specializing in gentle, strength-based practices that support balance, mobility, and confidence. Passionate about working with mature adults, she creates a warm, encouraging space where every student can move safely and feel empowered. Her classes often incorporate breathwork, with a strong focus on relaxation and overall well-being.
Jennifer will soon be certified to teach Steady for Life Balance Classes, as well. When she’s not leading our Yoga class in Madison, you’ll find her caring for animals, hiking, or reading.
Donna Sisk
Monrovia and Main Locations
A retired elementary school teacher and curriculum specialist, Donna comes to us with 38 years of experience as an educator and leader in Madison County and Huntsville City Schools. Throughout her career, Donna has enjoyed working with children and teachers alike, but has also come to enjoy working with mature adults since her retirement. Formerly a water aerobics instructor, she received her foundational line dance instruction from Mrs. Judy Graf.
She currently has the privilege of serving as a line dance instructor to the adults at Willowbrook Baptist Church.
Donna has always had a passion for sharing with others the things that add joy to her life, and line dancing is no exception! She hopes those who join her class at the Sandra Moon Center will reap many benefits for their bodies and minds as the class enjoys dancing together!
Debra Wade
Lead Instructor; Owens Cross Roads & Timbers Edge Locations
Debra’s goal for her class is to improve breathing, balance, flexibility, strength and movement. She is a certified Pilates instructor, Beam Fit Instructor, and a certified RedCord specialist. She also has a senior fitness specialist certification. Debra has been teaching Pilates for the past 29 years and was a Pilates Studio owner in Huntsville for 10 years. Debra has been our Hampton Cove/Owens Cross Roads Balance instructor for 13 years. Her students have really flourished under her guidance.
Paula Williams
Meridianville, Mount Zion & Main Locations
Paula’s love for fitness began when she was 8 years old, working out with her mom to Jane Fonda albums in the family living room. As a child and teenager, she was constantly doing something…ballet, tap, jazz, gymnastics, racquetball, softball, track, majorette, and cheerleading. That love for fitness carried through to her young adult years when she got her first “real” fitness job as a step aerobics instructor. Since that job over 25 years ago, she has taught pump, hip hop, tae-bo, water aerobics, Zumba and PiYO, to name a few. Currently, she is a certified group exercise instructor and PiYo Live Instructor.
Kristin Clark
Kristin Clark is a substitute teacher for all our Steady for Life classes. Having retired from 20 years in the Air Force and another 16 as a government civilian, Kristin has a great deal of experience training others, and she holds a master’s degree in Adult Education. After many years of teaching aerobics and other fitness classes, she completed her 200-hr yoga teacher training in 2022. She is the Alabama ambassador and local yoga teacher for the national non-profit Veterans Yoga Project. Her passion is introducing the many benefits of yoga to those who think they cannot “do yoga”. When not teaching/subbing, Kristin enjoys photography, travel, and spending time with her husband, their two sons and two grandchildren.
